Love thy Mum

by | Apr 2, 2011

So it’s still fairly hectic here with feeding, burping and nappy changing and with Mother’s Day fast approaching I contemplated buying a shop bought card for my dear Mum ….. ooh, urrghh!! Can’t remember the last time I bought a card but desperate times almost called for desperate measures. Then on Friday evening I managed to get a bit of ‘me’ time and out came the Stampin Up! stuff.

I really wanted to make my Mum a personal card because she loves the cards I  make and appreciates the effort, and she has been so supportive and helpful over the past few weeks from doing the ironing to picking up some shopping.

I still needed something simple and quick, but suitable for Mothers Day. I opted for the Cottage Delight DSP which is now sadly not available, and matched it with Rich Razzleberry cardstock and the Vintage Vogue stamp set. The flowers were stamped and then cut out with the Paper Snips – how easy do these make cutting out shapes?! Topped off with a pearl for added dimension.

The lettering is created by combining both the Schoolbook Serif and Broadsheet Alphabets – my first time using these and I can see they are going to be well used.

Got to dash, hubby is on kitchen duty again (it’s a good job he’s a good cook!) and we have Rick Stein’s Beef Kofta Curry for tea and it smells delicious. Going to try and eat without Grace waking up and wanting feeding – she seems to have comedy timing!

Last thing before I tuck in is entering this into the following challenges:

Allsorts – Blooming Blossoms
Delightful Challenges – Flowers
Fab N Funky – Shabby Chic – hope the vintage cottage style flowers fit this.
Cupcake Craft – Flowers for Mum

What do you think about today’s project. Let me know below.
