Simple Scentsational Season

by | Oct 10, 2012

At the weekend I had my monthly Papercraft Class and  I was lucky to be joined by some of my regulars and 3 brand new none-stamping ladies, so hello to Maggie, Kaj and Donna. I was so thrilled when they all enjoyed themselves and asked to come back next month for more – I truly do love to share my love of stamping!
Over the next few days I will share with you what we made at the class. We used the Scentsational Season stamp set and the gorgeous Snow Festival Designer Paper – don’t forget you could get your next 6 packs of Paper free by joining my team.
The cards were all designed with simplicity in mind to assist the new ladies in getting to grips with stamping and also because when you have lots of cards to make for Christmas, simplicity is key! Today, I’ve got 2 to share with you.
This first one uses the cute mug stamp and I added the candy cane to “stir my hot chocolate”, and a whisper of steam for warmth! The images were stamped and then die cut with the Holiday Collection framelits … no fussy cutting out required! Then the candy cane was popped into the mug by creating a small slit with a craft knife or the end of the super sharp Paper Snips.
A simple background of white stamped stars on the Cherry Cobbler card base and a layering up of some the pretty patterned Snow Festival paper . Finished off with some steam and a sentiment punched out with the Word Window punch and although the photo doesn’t show it, an adhesive pearl on the snowflake design of the mug!
This second one uses the super cute Gingerbread man stamp and the great colour combination of Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler to match the stripy paper from Snow Festival Papers. Don’t know I how crafted before I discovered the coordination of Stampin’ Up!!
I added a strip of the Cherry Cobbler scallop ribbon to the card base before layering up the Gingerbread strip. A simple sentiment stamped and mounted with the 1 3/8″ Circle punch and the 1 3/4″ Scallop punch
and few simple adhesive pearls to finish off.
These papers do have a very festive feel to them, but I think either of the papers on these cards could be used throughout the year.
