Stampin’ Up to raise funds for CLAPA

by | May 10, 2015

CLAPA Fundraiser

So yesterday was a pretty busy day here – first my usual monthly Papercraft Class in the morning, followed by an afternoon raising awareness and funds for CLAPA – the Cleft Lip and Palate Association, a charity which proved to be very helpful as a resource when I had my son George. The afternoon was a combination of my favourite things – crafting and cakes! Perfect!

It was such a lovely way to spend time – introducing stamping to some new people, spending time with friends, whilst making a bit of a fuss about CLAPA. George was there to greet everybody with one of his cheeky smiles and even stood on ceremony to pull out the first raffle ticket!

I must say thank you to all those people that donated raffle prizes from my friends like Kate, Helen and her bottle of fizz, Diane and her fabulous tote bags to Fiona with her amazing cake.

I was also lucky enough to receive donations from a collection of my friends with their own businesses including:

  • Kelle at With Love Crafts Barn – who donated a fantastic collection of fairy wings, wands and accessories perfect for any aspiring Tinkerbelles! Kelle is launching an exclusive venue for craft workshops (I host my first there later this month!) and already runs a successful party service to create very special memories for your children’s Birthdays, or Hen Do’s or any excuse to celebrate!
  • Jo at Smile Gift Hampers – who donated one of her fabulous bespoke handmade hampers. She creates wonderful basket gifts bursting with items such as toiletries home fragrance candles and much more.
  • Vicky from My Mum Makes – who donated a fantastic handmade bunting – perfect to brighten up any child’s bedroom.

I must also mention all those people who assisted before and during the event – especially Beth who helped me with all the card kits, and my mum and sister who helped me host the event, as well as all those who baked for the event – Helen’s Chocolate and Beetroot cake has now made legendary status!

CLAPA Fundraiser (3)

So after a lovely time, I was amazed and amazed and overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity from everyone and super excited to have raised a fantastic £346 for CLAPA! Thank you!!

Many of my customers who live too far away to attend wondered how they could help, so I’ve decided to enable for those that are ordering this week a way to contribute. For every order placed this week, I will donate my profit from the sales to CLAPA too.

Please find it in your hearts to either purchase some Stampin’ Up! product through me from today until 17th  May or if you would like to donate directly please contact me. Thanks again everyone!

Hasta luego / see you later
