Where did the last year go …. ?

by | Feb 27, 2012

So another birthday card to share with you … boy is February a busy month! This one is a particularly special one as it marks one year to the day since I became a mummy!
I can’t quite believe that a whole year has passed, and how much my little girl has changed in that first year.
I wanted to make a special keepsake card and opted for a Zig Zag card.
Without realising it I opted for the primary colours of Real Red, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight. I didn’t really have a design in mind when I started, it just sort of developed. All I knew was I wanted to have her name on it and break out the Owl Builder Punch. I bought this ages ago, but not had chance to use it till now and it’s perfect for children’s birthdays.
The first panel features bunting made from the Pennant parade set and matching punch. I used my new Timeless Type Junior Alphabet sizzlit dies to get the number and the sentiment was made on the computer and layered onto the tag from the Petal Cone die.
The central panel features another sentiment made on the computer and is simply decorated with a chain of monkeys from Fox and Friends.
The last panel features Grace’s name made using the Alphabet Sizzlits dies and is then decorated with that cute owl and the lion stamp. The owl’s party hat is made from Pennant parade and punch as are the stars decorating the card.

I think those Alphabet dies are going to get used a lot! In fact come back tomorrow for another birthday card which may have got some personalisation too!

Hasta la próxima / until next time
