In mourning for Mocha Morning!

by | Mar 3, 2012

Wow, what a week I’ve had. Grace has been ill, hubby has been ill and I’ve been busy with work and preparing for this month’s card class which I did on Thursday night and also have one this afternoon, but more of that another day.
I thought I’d share my absolute favourite designer papers with you today – I just love the Mocha Morning Speciality papers. The colours are so scrummy and I love the luxurious feel. I bought a pack as soon as the catalogue was released in October last year but haven’t wanted to cut into them … they’re just too strokeable!!
But then when my little sis finally moved into her own place and I wanted to create a special keepsake New Home card for her which matched her newly decorated living room I decided to bite the bullet and open Mocha Morning! (sniff, sniff! ;-( )
I decided to create another 6 inch zig zag card based on a design I cased from my upline Blue Jelly. I used the beautiful brocade papers teemed with whisper white card which had been embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The two parts were joined with some Basic Black satin ribbon. The embellishment is from the Blossoms die from the Spring Mini catalogue. This has then been stamped in Basic Grey with the vine stamp from Vintage Vogue. I finished it off with a brad from the Antiques pack – another item I can hardly bear to part with!

I didn’t have a New Home sentiment in my collection so printed this off the computer and punched out with the word window. A few rhinestones add a bit of bling.

The middle panel features another printed item – guess what number house they now live at?

I layered this up using the oval punch and the decorative label punch. Layered onto basic Black which has been embossed and then onto a layer of Basic Grey DSP.

Anyway, must dash … got a lovely group of ladies waiting to get crafty this afternoon!

Hasta la próxima / until next time

Fab card Louise. I love that paper too. Haven’t bought it yet though as I’m on a stash diet…
