Over the next few days I’ll be sharing with you some of the cards we made at June’s Papercraft class. I was requested to design a class around cards for different occasions as we had already created a stash of Birthday cards.
Today we have of the favourites from the class which focuses on using the Bird Punch and was designed with Weddings and Anniversaries in mind. But first I must let you know of what got me giggling whilst I was designing this card (hence the silly title of the post!). I was trying to decide what bird to create with the punch and decided to use it for a wedding card so they would be doves of course …. and what popped into my head but the “Dove from Above” from the tv programme Shooting Stars. Now rather than a shoddy cardboard prop like Vic and Bob I think my Doves look quite elegant … what do you think?
The wreath was created by drawing a rough heart shape on a layer of Very Vanilla which has been embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. We then punch out the ends of the leaves from the punch and glued down in a heart shape to create the wreath.
Two birds punched in Very Vanilla cardstock, raised up on Dimensionals and making sure they face opposite ways add the wings and eyes in pearls.
To finish, stamp the required sentiment and create a banner style using the square punch and attach with more dimensionals. Simple but elegant.
