Hi all, it’s been a busy week here in the world of slate. I’ve been to North Wales, mid wales and Derbyshire! So it’s nice to have a long weekend with the family to look forward to. We’re off shopping for our hols but I hope to sneak in a bit of crafting.
Here’s a card I made this week. I’ve seen lots of them in blogland and wanted to have a go. It’s a shadow box card which makes great use of two of the products from the Summer Mini – the Simply Scored and the Framelits Label dies.
Two pieces of Crumb Cake card make up the card and with a few simple scorelines you can create this shadow box shape. What’s fab too is that it folds flat for posting too!
I used the Apothecary Art set for the focal image. This is another great product from the Summer Mini Catalogue and is designed to work perfectly with the dies for maximum ease. I coloured the image with the Aquapainters for a watercolour muted feel and added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes before cutting it out with the dies and layering it on another frame in Poppy Parade cardstock.
Then I set to work on my first attempt at paper roses. These look so good on other peoples blogs I expected them to be quite hard to do …. surprisingly they are quite easy once you know how!
A few punched flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack and a few leaves from the Owl Punch in Pear Pizzazz and I was done.
If you want to learn how to create one of these cards, together with the Paper roses, then come along to my papercraft class next Saturday 18th August in Rugeley. Places need to be reserved by Sunday. See
here for more details.
Hasta la próxima / until next time
