Midnight Tree Scene

by | Oct 12, 2012

So glad its the weekend! It’s been a really tough week, with very little sleep due to a teething little girl. Hoping we’re nearing the end now as its been over 10 days with less than 5 hours sleep per night. Ughhh!!  So whilst I’ve not felt like crafting much in the evenings, it’s ok as I still have lots to share from my recent class and launch party.
Today is another card from my Scentsational Season class and features a tree scene in one of the fab new in colours Midnight Muse. I saw a similar design on Pinterest and just knew it would be popular and I think this turned out to be the favourite card of the day.
The card base was in Baja Breeze, to which I added a mat of Midnight Muse. Then using the Holiday Collection framelits I created a little tree window into the inside of the card. The good thing is the dies will cut through two layers of card stock in one go.
After stamping two trees in Midnight Muse and die cutting them, together die cuting with three stars in a Whisper White cardstock I created a scene on the card front. I then used the much overlooked Signo Gel Pen to add some hills and falling snow. Simple but effective.
The finishing touch was to stamp a tree on the inside of the card to peek through the window. Many of my ladies were at first wondering how I did this with such precision, so of course I introduced them to the wonder of the Stamp-a-ma-jig!
Don’t forget if you want any of these products or are interested in any of my cardmaking classes which are held in Staffordshire, then please just contact me.
Anyhow, best be off now and spend the rest of the evening with hubs (when the footy has gone off!) as not seen much of each other for a few nights.
Hasta la próxima / until next time
