A Play with Petal Parade

by | Feb 12, 2014

Hello, told you I’d be back with some creative inspiration … though I bet you thought I wouldn’t make it after my recent performance!

Well I’m here and I’ve got my first make with the Petal Parade stamp set. It’s one of those items you can choose for free with the Sale-a-bration promotion.

Petal Parade SAB (2)

I used it simply combining three of the flower images in a colour combination of Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron and Night of Navy to create a panel which I layered up onto the card. I added some texture with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.

For the sentiment I kept with the circular theme and chose this lovely image from the Chalk Talk Stamp set – it’s definitely one of my “go to” sets for sentiments. What’s your favourite sentiment stamp set?

And finally even the inside got some stampin treatment to echo the main focal image. I’ve left the message blank inside as I haven’t quite decided who this will be winging it’s way to yet.

This is a lovely card Louise!
I love the colour combos and think the embossing goes well with the flowers and the circular sentiment. I always think a card is incomplete without an insert for you to write your personal, hand written note on. To take it one step further and add a continuation of the main design, on the corner of the insert adds just that something extra to any card. Well done – are we allowed to copy this, if we don’t pass it off as one of our own? Without the yellow it would be a perfect card for an Aston Villa or West Ham supporter!
