Wow that was a hectic few days! Business trip to Llandudno, a lovely Scentsy party at mine by Blue Jelly Independent Scentsy Consultant with lots of fun and laughter and yesterday I went to my first Baby shower for my lovely friend Kate.
I had never made a Baby Shower card before and was a bit concerned how to do it as I normally personalise baby cards with all the important details, but all that is yet to come. So I opted for the following card.
I began with a 5″ square card base in Pool Party Cardstock, and layered up with Whisper White and a split panel background of I am Me Designer Series Paper, which although not designed for baby cards, I think the simple patterns lend themselves to this type of project. The seam between the papers was covered with a strip of Basic Grey 1/4″ Stitched grosgrain ribbon.
The focal point of the card was the sweet baby footprints from the Baby Prints stamp set (wood /clear), stamped in Basic Grey ink, which I mounted onto coordinating cardstock. To add my sentiment I used the new Banner Punch – which you can earn for FREE with a spend of £45 with me on Stampin’ Up! products during our Sale-a-Bration promotion. I punched out the banners from the Designer paper and then using my Basic Grey marker coloured the required letters from the stamp for each banner. The Stamp-a-ma-jigwas most definitely required here!
The front was finished off with a trio of the Basic Grey candy dots from the Neutrals Candy dots collection. The inside got some stamping treatment with the baby handprints being stamped to match.
Thankfully Kate seemed to like her card and it won’t be long before I can craft again to make something personalised once the baby is here.
