Ombre Odyssey – Part 2

by | Apr 10, 2014

I’m back today with Part 2 of my Ombre Odyssey. You can see what the ombre effect is and the first card here.

Today’s card shows how I created the effect with the fantastic range of coloured cardstock Stampin’ Up! offers.

Stampin' Up Ombre Technique

STAMPIN’ DELIGHT TIPS & TRICKS

  • The ombre effect was created by cutting 1″ strips of 5 shades of pink – Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple.
  • I used the Small Heart Punch to add detail to each strip. Once you’ve punched one strip, you can use this as a template to punch the others, to ensure the hearts all line up.

Stampin' Up Ombre Technique

  • The sentiment is from Sweet Essentials – a really useful sentiment stamp set, with something for every occasion. It is stamped with Jet Black Stazon ink as this works best on the Whisper White Card Base.
  • A Basic Rhinestone Jewel used as the dot of the “i” adds that necessary touch of bling.

I know super simple right? But seriously, it looks so effective and the recipient will still be wowed by your handmade card. Why not try this effect with a different colours – yellow/orange, blues or greens?

Hasta luego / see you later
