It’s time for a the summer themed blog hop for Stamptastic Friends. We’ve had a long and varied summer here in the UK, so it’s hard to know what to focus on … hot weather, cold weather, thunderstorms, days out, days in … you name it, we’ve had it all. One thing that always makes me think of summer is Sunflowers. I’ve seen lots of photo’s of sunflowers over recent weeks as people share how big, or not so big they are!

So let’s see what you think of my summer Sunflower card.

I created this flower by using the Watercolour paper and adding some Magenta Madness ink with my Water Painters – it’s great to do if using the Water Painters is not something you are super comfortable with as it’s a small area. Go on, try it.

Once I coloured the paper I die cut the Sunflower shape and then layered a Gold Foil Sunflower on it. I layered it up on some leaves cut out in Just Jade.

I layered the sunflower onto a Very Vanilla base before embellishing with some of the Just Jade Gingham ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season combo pack. I do love a bit of Gingham.

The card felt a little unbalanced so I added a little banner of DSP from the In Colour Designer Series paper stack and then finished off

I made this for my dad to give my mum – her birthday is in the height of summer! I created the greeting from Peaceful Moments and Family Party. I love Family Party for adding those personal touches.

I love adding a coordinated bit of stamping on the inside and the sunflower stamp makes a perfect accent.
