Blended background for my favourite stamp set

by | Jul 18, 2021

Did you know that by day I am website designer and so spend my days playing with fonts and graphic elements. I think that’s why stamp sets with strong fonts always appeal to me and why today I am sharing a cards with the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set for the Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

STEP 1 – Heat Emboss the sentiment

This stamp is my favourite one in my favourite set – large, great combination of fonts and the perfect sentiment. I stamped it in Versamark and then heat embossed with White emboss powder from the Basics range.

STEP 2 – Create a blended background for your card

I used 3 of the In Colour inks from 2021-2023 to create the blended background – Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia, for the basis of this birthday card. I start by adding the palest colour first and use the Blending brushes in a nice swirling action to create a smooth look. Then work way down the page going over the previous colour to blend them together.

STEP 3 – Decorate with candles and jewels

To add a finishing touch I stamped the 3 candles from the Party Puffins (another favourite stamp set … hope I’m allowed 2!) and stamped the 3 candles in memento before colouring in with the coordinating Stampin’ Blends. Finally, a flourish of In colour Jewels.

So now a question for you … what would be your favourite stamp set from the Annual Catalogue? I’d love to know.

I wonder what favourite stamp sets the rest of the Stamptastic Friends have picked?

Happy crafting and hasta luego,
