How do you make a card that wows that doesn’t involve stamping … the answer is to use your dies and some very pretty papers. Today’s project shows you a way of creating a card for some special people in your life with the Christmas Trees dies. These are part of the Whimsy and Wonder suite and this is the second card I’ve shared with this gorgeous suite.
How to create the Two Tone Christmas Trees with the Inlaid Die Cutting Technique
- Die cut the tree die in both Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron. Make sure to keep all the pieces for both.
- Then piece back the die cut elements into the tree of the opposite colour. I do this by adding a piece of card to the back of the main die with Tear and Tape so that I have something to adhere all the small pieces to.
- Take a piece of Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series paper measuring 9.8 x 14.2cm and adhere to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4cm
- Wrap a piece of Soft Succulent Open Weave ribbon around and tie with a bow.
- Stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto Basic White cardstock and fussy cut out. Adhere to card.
- Add all layers to a cardbase of Thick Basic White.
So that’s how easy and effective the Inlaid Die Cutting Technique is – will you have a go?
I bet this would love great in lots of different colour combinations. It’s also great for using up offcuts of card stock.
