Party Birthday Card with Awesome Otters

by | Dec 30, 2021

It’s almost time to party and let in the New Year … but I’m not one for making new Year cards. So for the theme of “Party Time for this month’s Stampin’ Creative blog hop I decided to create a Birthday Party card.

I used a brand new set in my collection called Awesome Otters …. I’m pretty sure Otters are perfect party animals!

Party birthday card

Party Birthday Card Tutorial

This fun party card can be created as follows:

  • Create a card base by taking an A4 piece of Pool Party cardstock and cut on the portrait side at 10.5cm. Score at 14.9cm.
  • Cut layers in Bermuda Bay cardstock as follows – 10 x 14.4cm and 7.5 x 7.5cm
  • Cut layers in Whisper White cardstock as follows – 9.5 x 13.9cm and 7 x 7cm.
  • Take a piece of Designer Series paper – I used a piece from the new Sweet Talk DSP pack featuring sweet candy stripes – measuring 9.5 x 5cm. Adhere to the large white layer of cardstock and then on to the large layer of Bermuda cardstock.
  • On the small square of Whisper White stamp the Otter in Memento ink. I coloured him with Crumb Cake blends, and used Pale Papaya for his tummy and used the Colour Lifter to lighten it.
  • I added the cute part hat and coloured it with Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green Blends.
  • Finished the card with stamping the sentiment and a some fun embellishments.

The Awesome Otters set is one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets … I’ll be sharing more about that soon, but it means you can get this stamp set FREE with a £45 purchase. This starts on 4th January … so not long to wait!

Birthday Party Card

This would make a fun birthday card for any age of recipient – who would you send it to?

SO stinkin’ key-UTE! I REALLY wanted to play with my new toys but resisted the urge and reached for some annual toys that needed some love. Thanks for the inspiration!

The otter are so cute! The DSP behind works so well. I had to look twice, at first glance it looked like ribbon had been layered onto the card. The effect is amazing!
