Bunch Butterfly

by | Jul 25, 2012

Back again with another card we made in this month’s class with the Mixed Bunch stamp set and matching punch. In fact, I’m back with two!
I always want to show my ladies how to get the most out of their Stampin’ Up supplies so I had seen in blogland some cards creating butterflies from this set and punch.
I used Soft Suede for the card base, a much underused colour in my collection but one I will try again as I really like this combined with the Poppy Parade. Again these colours were selected to match the Everyday Enchantment papers. I gave two options for the strip across the card. They could either use the Lace Ribbon Border punch and have a go at ageing it with a sponge dauber and the Soft Suede ink.

Or they could layer the strip of Designer Paper on white card and create a faux stitched line using the Paper Piercer, Mat pack and White gel pen. This is a great technique and one I should definitely use more. It does also fit with the challenge at Less is More. I always check out this challenge blog as it’s theme fits in with my Stampin’ Up style – Clean and Simple (CAS). You should pop on over for some great inspiration, even better why not join in?

There were also two versions of butterflies which were given a two tone look by using markers rather than ink pads. Not sure which one I like best … what about you?

Off for a browse around the other entries to the Less is More challenge.
