I heart weddings

by | Jan 15, 2012

Oooh, I do love a good wedding and whenever they crop up I try to make a personalised wedding card for that special day. Whilst I was having a play with the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set, it reminded me of 2 cards I made last year for 2 orders, which I haven’t shared with you here yet, so thought now was the perfect time!

tri Fold Shutter card Wedding Mr& Mrs Hearts Neutrals
I made a tri-fold shutter card – my first one! The colours and design were chosen in keeping with the wedding. For this I used Crumb Cake as the base, teamed up with Very Vanilla and Early Espresso. The side panels were stamped with the vine from Vintage Vogue stamp set which created a lovely background and matched the wedding theme perfectly. I created the Bride and Groom hearts with the I {Heart} Hearts set and full heart punch, and the hearts banner across the top and bottom was also made with this set and the Heart to heart punch. It’s so great having punches that match the images – saves lots of time and lots of cutting out!

I finished the card with a message printed off on the computer and a couple of now retired sentiments together with couple’s initials from the Broadsheet Alphabet Stamp. Perfectly personalised! I completed the card with a matching gift box – there was no way this card was going in an envelope.
This second card was also designed with the wedding theme in mind – the wedding was red and white as the groom is a Liverpool fan!

I went for an easel card design and did the same focal image – well I do like it! I kept it monochrome with the matching Designer Paper and ribbon and printed the bride and groom’s names on the computer and cut out with the Full Heart punch to create the stopper. The sentiment is from Wedding Sweet and a little bit of bling to finish off with some rhinestones and a rhinestone brad.

If you want to order any of the supplies to make either of these cards, then please do get in touch.

Hasta la próxima / until next time

Thank you. It’s so simple – just punch out a Full Heart in white and then another in the chosen colour. Cut out a “V Shape” from the colour one and layer up. Then the bow tie and buttons are just doodled on with the marker in the same colour.
