Welcome to the blog today for a simple stamping project as part of the Stamptastic Friends blog hop. A simple stamping project is one that just uses stamps, ink and paper and can be hard for us avid crafters. I am definitely a “less is more” kind of stamper but find it hard not to incorporate some kind of embellishment or tool. Today though I just used ink and card, and have created 2 cards.

I used the Comfort and Hope stamp set to create this card – it’s a beautiful stamp set with a collection of “thinking of you” and “sympathy” sentiments. This stamp set was one I earned for FREE – there are lots of perks we get as demonstrators including rewards for achievements and activities. This stamp set was for a challenge I completed in March and I wanted to give it a try and a #simplestamping project is a great way as it makes you really focus on the stamps.

I stamped the wood in Flirty Flamingo ink onto the same colour cardstock for a tone-on-tone look. Added some sponging for added texture. A few simple splodges in Early Espresso ink before cutting out the fir cones. I created the 2 tones with some 2nd generation stamping. I love how because the Stampin’ Classic Ink pads have a high percentage of dye we can get 3-4 shades of colour from one pad.

The second card I created used the swirl stamp as a background. This gives the look of a swirl of twine. I stamped in both Coastal Cabana ink and Night of Navy ink. I added a strip of card for the sentiment as a feature – no punches or dies required. I did add some detail with the scallop stamp from the set.

I just love how quickly this card came together. The clear crisp images from our Cling Red Rubber Stamps make for an easy stamping experience, even for beginners. Plus you can always add some detail by stamping on the inside.
