Today’s card is one of the first fun folds I ever tried, and it is a simple easel card. Sometimes I think it’s nice to go back and try an old favourite style or layout with newer products, and that is what I have done today for the Stampin’ Creative blog hops on Fun Folds.
This easel card is created with a simple fold in the card base.
This simple card is perfect for all sorts of occasions and with soft feminine papers like these Hand Penned Designer Series papers that are my favourite from the 2021 Annual Catalogue, they can work for all sorts of women in our lives.
Pretty Paper Easel Card Tutorial
This card can be created as follows:
- Take an A4 sheet of Blushing Bride cardstock. With short edge to the top of your trimmer cut at 10.5 cm. Take one piece and score at 14.9 cm. Cut other half to create a layer of 14.4 x 10cm
- Score one half of the card base into half at 7.5cm. Fold the card base at the score line and burnish the fold with the bone folder.
- The half with the fold makes the easel part, glue the layer of Blushing Bride cardstock to the small section at the end of the cardstock.
- Add a piece of Hand Penned DSP measuring 13.4 x 9cm to the card panel. Layer a piece of DSP measuring 10 x 1.5cm to the panel, so it sits where the easel fold is.
- Die cut a large label in Blushing Bride cardstock from the Hippo and Friends dies and stamp your chosen sentiment and image onto the front. Add to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
- The inside of the card has now become the base, add a piece of DSP measuring 14.4 x 10cm.
- To create a stopper for the easer, die cut a smaller label from Hippo and Friends dies and stamp your chosen sentiment.
- Place onto the base about two thirds of the way down. Finally, glue it into place with Dimensionals.
I used the coordinating stamp set Hand Penned Petals to stamp some coordinating images in matching colours of Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron. The sentiments come from Hydrangea Haven Stamp set as I wanted to give this to my dear Mother in Law for Mother’s day. Both these stamp sets are staying with us and will be in the new 2022 Annual Catalogue.
However, lots of the products used today are in the retiring list – meaning they will soon be gone for good!
