Wow, a week has passed by so quickly since I last blogged. It was filled with lots of crafting though which was superb. I had a few of my team over for a crafting marathon, where we shared all our supplies and stamped and die cut all day long all the things we didn’t have… I was in crafting heaven, but more of that another day!
Today I have another card to show you featuring another stamp set that has returned to the Annual catalogue. This set was in the Spring mini and I think many may have overlooked it, as we were all swept up with the Sale-a-bration promotion. The stamp set is called You are Loved and although it has a great Valentines feel to it, it can be used for lots more. I love it … what about you?
This card was an Anniversary card for my dad to give to my mum.
I used a subtle colour combination of Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Rose Red. I made the card base by embossing a piece of Very Vanilla with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder for the top half and layering with a piece of the Rose Red designer paper from the Subtles stack for the bottom half. The join was decorated with the gorgeous seam binding ribbon in Rose Red and topped off with a few pearls.
The main image at the top was the lovely heart image stamped in Rose Red, which was then cut out. Now I am sure the new Hearts framelits would have come in useful here to cut a matt layer for the heart, but I don’t have those (yet!), so I created the scalloped edge by a nifty little technique using a couple of punches. I’ll be sharing this technique with my Newsletter readers next month, so make sure you add your name to the list here.
The bottom half featured the label stamp from the set, which I stamped once in Crumb Cake and punched with the Decorative Label punch, and then stamped again in Rose red and punched out the central wording with the Large Oval punch before layering up with dimensionals.
Even the inside got some treatment with a little more stamping. Luckily it got the seal of approval from both parents!
