Today’s card from the Christmas in August class shows how we used a non-festive stamp set to create a gorgeous special Christmas card. This one takes a little time to create so is perfect for those who deserve that extra attention.
The stamp set used is Apothecary Art which has a series of wreaths and floral stamps that fit with the Framelits label dies. I made another Shadow Box card but with a slightly different method to the one here.
The shadow box itself is easy to create. Using the Simply scored we made three scorelines on each piece of Crumb Cake card. On one of the pieces we cut out the window with the largest Framelit Label die before attaching them together. The image was simply stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and topped off with a sentiment from a new addition to my stamp collection Curly Cute, before being cut out with the corresponding Framelit die and then layered up on Real Red card cut out with the next largest die.
The more time consuming part of the card was adding some paper roses. They are simple to make but just take a little time. In my class tutorial I did step-by-step instructions on how to make them so my ladies can use it again and again to refer to.
I also added some punched flowers using Boho Blossoms and the Itty Bitty punch pack and some foliage from the Owl Punch and decorated with some pearls.
To finish off I added a Decorative Label and used the In the Family stamp set to add the lucky family members who will receive this card.
I’ll be back soon with another festive card using this stamp set.
Hasta la próxima / until next time
