So last weekend saw my first class of 2015 and I had a blast! I sure hope the ladies who attended did too. For my monthly Papercraft Technique class I always try to show the ladies lots of different techniques they can use in the cardmaking and this month was no exception. Everyone received their very own Stripes & Spots Decorative Masks in the kit, plus a full tutorial on how to use them and different techniques they could try. One of the most popular techniques seemed to be the Emboss resist technique – so here’s my sample I shared with the class.
STAMPIN’ DELIGHT TIPS & TRICKS
- Using the spots Decorative Mask I inked up Whisper White cardstock with Versarmark ink before heat embossing with White Embossing Powder. Then using the Stampin’ Sponges I added a trio of colours – Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral to make a stunning background.
- To let the background feature I kept the rest of the card fairly uncomplicated in design. The simple flower is from a new set from the Spring/Summer Seasonal – Petal Potpurri, which comes with a matching punch (woo hoo!) in the form of this Flower Medallion punch. The centre of the flower is another stamp in the set which co-ordinates with the 7/8″ scallop circle punch. I love it when my life is made simple with matching punches!
- The card was finished off with a simple banner punched with the Spiral Border Punch and a sentiment from And Many More – my go to sentiment stamp set of the moment.
Hasta luego / see you later
