Foxy Friends

by | Jul 11, 2012

The title may have brought to mind something a little more daring than these cute baby and children cards. No …. just me?? I’m obviously reading too much Mr Grey! Anyway back to another card from the June class and some of my ladies had requested some cards for children so here they are.
These cards are created using my go-to stamp set for children’s cards – Fox and Friends. I did two different samples and let the ladies get creative and come up with their own versions and I’m pleased to say they all came out different.
They each chose the colour card base they wanted from the three I had supplies – So Saffron, Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride and then set to work to create their chosen card.
This first sample uses a So Saffron card base and a layer of Very Vanilla that has been randomly stamped with the various animals from Fox and Friends. You get 7 stamps in the set – Owl, Giraffe, Monkey, Tortoise, Lion, Whale and Fox for a great value of £13.95 in clear mount – less than £2 a stamp.
I used a strip of Just Add Cake designer paper, mounted on Wild Wasabi card to add a banner to the card and topped off with my chosen sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
The other sample took a little more time.
I stamped the monkeys and giraffe straight onto the Very Vanilla layer, but positioned them carefully to hang from some branches punched by the Bird punch and to hide behind the banner. The owl and lion were stamped onto scrap card and then carefully cut out with my paper snips so they could be in front of the banner and I used the markers to stamp the lion to get two colours on one image. Another banner from Just Add Cake designer paper and a sentiment layered up on a Curly Cute label.
Be back soon with the last of the trio of interchangeable cards from the class.
Hasta la próxima / until next time
