Sweet Sorbet Gift Box & Card

by | Mar 31, 2014

It’s the last day of Sale-a-bration so I have a make that uses more of those Sweet Sorbet Designer Series papers.

I was due to hand this little birthday package over to my lovely Stampin’ Up! mummy and friend on Friday, Victoria aka Blue Jelly, but unfortunately our plans were scuppered by her poorly little boy, and although she will get it as a belated birthday gift, I couldn’t wait to share it here as it’s the last day you can get them as your freebie  …. so Victoria, if you’re looking, look away now!

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

Fingers crossed she’s not reading now! 😉

I had a gift for Victoria that I wanted to package up nicely … well she does make super beautiful projects herself …. so the challenge was set! I picked out the pretty paper in Crisp Canteloupe from the Designer Series papers made a 6″ square box lid using my Simply Scored. The base was made out of Basic Black Cardstock to ensure it would hold the weight of the gift.

The decorated panel of the box features a background paper made with the Petal Parade Stamp set in coordinating colours of Crisp Canteloupe and Crumb Cake. It was topped off with a banner of the gorgeous 1 1/4″ Burlap ribbon to add texture and then a couple of flowers using the Pansy and Boho Blossoms Punch and finished off with a Basic Pearl Jewel. You can even see a bit of the lovely twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack was added.

I wanted to make a matching card and continued with leftovers from my 12×12 sheet of Designer Paper. I created a Zfold card with the panel at the front using the papers and more of that twine and more of those flowers.

The main panel of the card was given more stamping treatment with the Petal Parade stamp set. I love how by using the same colour ink to the cardstock you can create this subtle effect. Finally a stamp sentiment from another Sale-a-bration freebie – See Ya Later stamp set.

Now I’m not going to share what is in the box,  as can’t completely ruin the surprise for Victoria (fingers crossed she’s not still reading!!), but as soon as gift is opened I will share on my Facebook page as have a neat trick for making packaging.
