Have you ever brayered your paper?

by | May 3, 2020

Using a brayer in my cardmaking has become a new favourite of mine. They are so easy to use. I love how each card you create with a brayer is different, even with the same supplies. So this time I decided to brayer on paper.

I brayered one of the subtle striped designs from the Come Sail Away designer series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

I brayered the paper on this handmade card for a simple technique to create a professional look.

The card design was inspired by the Global Design Project #GDP238.

The striped paper, cut at 9.5 x 13.9cm, gave me the lines and then I created the ombre effect by using the brayer with the same colour of Balmy Blue. I layered the brayered paper onto a matt of Whisper White measuring 10 x 14.4cm.
This was layered on to a card base in Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

I stamped the constellation star image from Little Twinkle onto Whisper White cardstock in Blackberry Bliss ink and then fussy cut it out. It was finished with a subtle sponging and a whoosh of Wink of Stella for a sparkly finish.

I layered the stamped image up on a swirl of coordinating twine for some texture. I then finished off by stamping one of the sentiments from the Little Twinkle set in Versamark and heat embossing in White before fussy cutting out just the words “love you”. A final addition of metallic sequins finishes the card off.

You can see a list of supplies used to create this card at the very bottom of this blog post.
