It’s time for a sketch challenge with the Stampin’ Creative blog hop team and today I use it to create a cool and funky card – perfect for the teenagers in your life.

What is a sketch? Well in cardmaking terms, it’s a diagram of a card layout which you can use to kickstart your creativity. You can interpret the sketch how you want any elements you want to incorporate. It’s a great place to start if the creative juices are not flowing.

Here is the sketch we are working from

I created a cool and funky card with the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and co-ordinating papers and punch, one that could be used for any occasion.

This funky stamp set features both ice-creams, lollipop’s and sprinkles – all with a watercolour design style. It’s a nice change from all the cute cartoon like stamp sets we normally see for ice-creams and such sweet treats.

I started by layering some of the gorgeous Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper on to a layer of Bermuda Bay card stock. The designs in these papers are so versatile – there are lots of ice-cream styles but also geometric patterns that can be coordinated with lots of other themes.

I wanted to keep the design fun and cool so added a strip in plain Bermuda Bay too before creating my focus with the Circle Layering Dies – these are so versatile and one of my most used die collections featuring plain and scalloped circles.

I stamped the Ice Cream in Daffodil Delight and Cinnamon Cider before using the Ice Cream Cone to punch out and layer on to my Circle, lifting the ice cream part with Dimensionals.

Finished off the card with a fun and cool greeting of “You’re so Cool” – perfect for those teenagers who are so hard to create for.
