Sponged and Embossed Christmas Trees

by | Nov 25, 2021

Christmas trees are my go to imagery for Christmas and when thinking about what to share for the Christmas Cheer theme for today’s Stampin’ Creative hop.

The trees are not stamped this time, but embossed. Come and see.

Sponged embossed trees.

Here’s how I created this card.

  • Take a piece of Basic White and use the Evergreen embossing folder with the Cut and Emboss machine.
  • Then using the Blending brushes and inks create a sponged background – using Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. It’s best to start from the top with the lightest colour and add ink over the embossed card – then work down and blend over with the next colour to create different tones.
  • Stamp a small Christmas tree from Whimsical trees and die cut out.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on Vellum cardstock – leave to one side to dry as it takes a few minutes.
  • Place a strip of ribbon across the card to sit under where you will position the vellum.
  • Add glue to the vellum to where you will cover it with the stamped image.
  • Finish off with a Rhinestone

This is the same card but in a colour combination of Pool Party and Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. This time I stamped in Evening Evergreen on to the Vellum.

Just imagine the fun you could have trying out different colour combinations.

I wonder what other Christmas Cheer projects the rest of the Stampin’ Creative team have to share.

Please do go check them out and leave a comment – we love to hear what you think.
