It’s been a busy week here with lots of visitors at the weekend, but think almost all our friends and family have now met Grace. So going forward I will hopefully have bit more time to craft and keep on top of the ironing – how does such a small person make so much laundry!?
It has also been an exciting time as we have a new addition to the family; Grace has a brand new cousin as my brother in law and his wife had a beautiful baby boy – Xavier Leone. There’s just 7 weeks between Grace and Xavier so we’ve already had lots of family time with them and it’ll be fab for them to grow up together.
I wanted to make a personalised card for them and decided to have a go at a side-step card. I used Pacific Point and Bashful Blue as my colour combination to give it a fab monochrome look.
The main background was created by using the Scallop Border Punch to create a scalloped square and then the small star was stamped randomly in Bashful Blue. The main element of the name was created with the fab Schoolbook Serif Alphabet stamp set and I’ve also used the pricking tool, mat pack and white gel pen to add some faux stitching. The “Hello” tag from Basic Phrases was stamped in Whisper White and punched out with the word window punch, whilst the Birth Date was hand written with the gel pen. The side panels were given a background of Bashful Blue and the pram and star are both from Fun and Fast Notes.
I love the way Stampin’ Up stuff gives you the tools to create coordinated cards. If you live in or near Staffordshire and want to see how easy it can be to create something similar just drop me a line and I can arrange to come and show you in the comfort of your own home – why not make an evening of it and invite some friends round for a crafty party. As the hostess you will get the chance to earn some gorgeous Stampin’ Up freebies.
Right, best go make a start on that mountain of laundry!
Be back soon,
