Pop Up Owl

by | May 21, 2012

Hello everyone, sorry I disappeared for a while. The house was struck down with a bit of illness and then it’s been a bit hectic with my monthly class and then this weekend I was at a regional training session in Leeds with lots of other lovely demo’s. But I’m back and hopefully can share with you a little of what I have been creating recently.
Today I have a type of card to show you that I have been wanting to make for a while – a pop up card. This is one of the cards we made at my recent Cards for Men class.
I decorated the front with the lovely Woodgrain background stamp and created a hole in the trunk for the cute owl. I love this punch and I will be showing you over the next few weeks what other things you can create with the Owl punch for maximum versatility.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set which has a suitable stamp for every occasion and then some!
On the inside is where the magic happens … so effective but so simple.
All the ladies at the class dreaded making this when they saw it thinking it would be too difficult but I’m pleased to say they all did it with little trouble. Three simple owls and a few fronds of leafage from the Bird punch. I left lots of room to write a message.
If you would like to come along and learn how to make cards like this then come and join my monthly class. The next one is on Saturday 23rd June, 1 – 4pm in Rugeley, Staffordshire and we will be making some cards for all kinds of occasions (by popular demand!) including Get Well, Good Luck and Sympathy and more. The cost of the class is £15, half price with a £25 order or FREE with a £45 order. Contact me to reserve your place today on 07738 562724 or email stampindelight@live.co.uk.
Hasta la próxima / until next time

Have you ever brayered your paper?

Using a brayer in my cardmaking has become a new favourite of mine. They are so easy to use. I love how each card you create with a brayer is different, even with the same supplies. So this time I decided to brayer on paper. I brayered one of the subtle striped...
