It’s been so lovely the last couple I days I shouldn’t say anything for fear the sunshine disappears, but it does make you think summer might be here?! During summer in Rugeley the evening skies are often dotted with the odd hot air balloon or two so with a lovely summery evening to craft I reached for the lovely new set Up, Up and Away from the Summer Mini.
The style of the card is similar to one we made in my Papercrafts class here, but the scene is created using different techniques.
The cloudy sky was this time created by sponging Bashful Blue ink around a mask created with half of a Scallop circle punch. So simple to do but really quite effective.
I then created the hills with some lucious Lucky Limeade cardstock and the Polka Dot embossing folder.
The balloons themselves are so much fun to create. I selected Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight cardstock to stamp onto and then stamped in Real red onto white cardstock for 3 different looking balloons. There are 6 balloon stamps in the set and then clouds, birds, basket and bunting, not to mention 4 sentiments stamps …. 14 stamps for a bargain price of £20.95 in clear mount or £25.95 with the wooden blocks.
I finished off with a simple sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and I discovered a cute way to add a banner style finish to the sentiment by inverting the Heart punch.
Lastly even the inside got some treatment with a background of blue clouds.
Off to bed now but hope I wake up to blue skies and sunshine again.
Hasta la próxima / until next time
