Wetlands for Wildlife

by | Jun 16, 2014

Hello, wow where did that last week go? Been manic busy here with painting, furniture building, birthdays, father’s day and lots more including my last papercraft class for a few weeks whilst I have Baby Sims, but the end is in sight so hopefully will be able to blog a little more regularly. I hope so as got lots to share!

I’m back today with one of the cards I made at the weekend for Father’s Day … are you a last minute dot com person too or do you craft in advance? I chose to ink up Wetlands as my family are very interested by all things wildlife!

Wetlands Fathers Day Woodgrain Embossing

STAMPIN’ DELIGHT TIPS & TRICKS

  • The background layer was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder. This card size is 5″ x 7″ and you cannot emboss that size piece in one go, so the trick is to do two pieces and the join is hidden behind a trio of Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon.
  • The Canada Goose image was inked up with the Stampin’ Write Markers of Early Espresso and Always Artichoke, before being die cut out with Ovals Framelits.

Wetlands Fathers Day (3)

  • I added a bit of texture by Paper Piercing the matt layer.  The Ovals are part of the Occasions Paper Piercing Pack and come with two other collections.  The image is finished by sponge daubing the grass.
  • To embellish the card I added one of the Naturals Designer Buttons adhered to a Banner cut with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits.

Wetlands Fathers Day Woodgrain Embossing

  • I used the lovely and sadly retiring Morning Post alphabet stamp to add the word Dad onto another banner.

This card was for my Father-in-Law as he loves taking Little Miss Chief out on walks to learn about the wildlife – she has become an avid watcher of Springwatch at the moment!

Following items are on the Retiring Lists:

  • Morning Post Alphabet – clear mount reduced to £20.37 from £33.95. Wood Mount at £41.95
  • Early Espresso 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon
  • Naturals Designer Buttons

Each day new items sell out so best to act quick and get what you want before it’s gone.

Hasta luego / see you later
